Brake lines - stock are OK, but for better pedal feel go with Stainless Steel
braided lines...they do not flex under pressure like the stock rubber pieces.
Brake fluid - the dry boiling point isn't as important as the wet. The
fluid isn't dry for very long. Look at the wet boiling point #'s, that is
much more important. In using Motul 600, the wet boiling point
is very close to the dry boiling point of ~600 degrees. Most DOT 3 and 4
have wet boiling points in the 300's, including the Valvoline Synthetic.
When I switched to Motul from stock in the GSR I definitely noticed a
difference in fade on long autox courses...remember, fluid fades too, not
just pads. Spend the few extra dollars and get good brake fluid...it's cheap
protection. Motul 600 and ATE Super Blue are both available at speed shops
and are highly recommended.
Brake pads - Porterfield makes an excellent pad for dual purpose
applications such as yours, the R4S. Go to Porterfield Brakes and
order them there. It's one of the few performance brake pad available for the G1 teg
and it is a superior product to the Axxis Metal Masters.
